We are pleased to announce that the Jason Kendall Ray Foundation’s 2nd Annual Golf Tournament and Reception is scheduled for September 20th, 2010 at River Run Country Club in Davidson. Last year’s event was sold out with 128 golfers, and over 250 people attending the Reception. The event raised over $40,000.00 for the Comprehensive Transplant Center at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
The Foundation hopes to double last year’s total as we add bigger and better auction items for the live and silent auction, as well as getting nationally known NASCAR Racing Executive, Humpy Wheeler, as our featured speaker for the event. Last year our Auction Event featured Sir Purr from the Panthers, Rufus from the Bobcats, and Rameses from UNC (there to whip up the crowd), along with the UNC Cheerleaders raising the spirit level as we auctioned off unique items like a signed Julius Peppers Carolina Panthers Jersey to a vacation home trip at Carolina Beach.
Our Live Auction featured sports packages with hotel for the UNC vs. Duke basketball game, a sports package with hotel for the UNC vs. Kentucky Basketball game (at Kentucky), UNC vs. Miami Football Tickets, as well as season tickets to Davidson College, and UNC Charlotte.
The Golf Tournament is $160 per player, $640 per foursome for golf and dinner, or $850 per team (and includes a guest ticket for each player and guest for the evening event), and sponsorships are still available. The Reception/Auction portion of the evening is $75.00 per person, and includes a full dinner buffet.
The event starts at 5pm and goes until 9pm. Molly Grantham (News Anchor on WBTV and UNC Alumnae) will be the Master of Ceremonies. The Panthers Sir Purr, Rufus from the Bobcats, and Rameses will be there again this year to make the event unforgettable! Our seating for the reception is limited, so sign up early.
The entire event is a fundraiser for the UNC Chapel Hill Hospital’s Organ Transplant Center. The Transplant Center has started a foundation to raise $1 Million dollars to name the center after Jason, but the real purpose of the money raised will be to help Organ Transplant patients with their costs before, during, and after their procedure.
Last year’s money raised has already started helping patients… your donation can help save a life!”
